The 54 year old governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party(PRP), and Minister-in-charge of Peace and Love Church of God, Ogbe Abeokuta, Prof David Olufemi Bamgbose, has passed on.

According to reports, he died after a brief illness at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro Abeokuta.

This comes a week after he defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and became the governorship candidate of PRP for the upcoming 2023 general elections.

According to his personal assistant, Pastor Oduntan Olayemi, the late Bamgbose complained of incessant tiredness, and was taken to a peripheral hospital at Federal Housing Estate, Olomore Abeokuta.

They were then referred to Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta for further checks.

However they later took him to the state hospital at Lantoro because of urgency, and he was placed on oxygen because of hampered breathing, which remained until Friday morning, September 2, when he died.

Bamgbose was a husband, father, Pastor, Professor of European American University, and the Gubernatorial candidate of PRP until death.
