The National Grid has, for the seventh time this year, collapsed to zero megawatts on Monday, September 26 at 10:51am.
The crashed which caused a sudden nationwide blackout happened just few days after Buhari’s administration was commended for an improved electricity supply.
The national grid generated about 3,712 megawatts from 21 Generation Companies earlier on Monday before 10am, but later dropped to zero megawatts about an hour later.
While the National Grid manager stated that he is yet to place his hands on the cause of the crash, an insider has alleged that it could be as a result of the maintenance of the 330KV Jos-Bauchi transmission line, which was scheduled to take place on Monday.
Meanwhile, some Generation Companies like that of Enugu, Kaduna and Kano has communicated the power outage to their customers, assuring them that efforts to restore power supply is ongoing.
