The Archbishop of Benue Dioceses, Methodist Church Nigeria, Most Rev Oliver Aba has been elected the New Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria. The election which took place on Saturday at the Methodist Cathedral of Unity, Abuja, venue of the 48th and 13th Biennial Conference of the church saw Aba emerge as the New Prelate.

Aba will be taking over the Church leadership from Most Rev Samuel Chikezie Uche who was elected August 2013.

In the same vein, Very Rev Nkechi Nwosu has been elected the Bishop of Jos Diocese Making her the first Female Bishop of the Methodist church Nigeria.

The church has also created three new archdioceses, 19 new dioceses and two foreign missions during the conference.
