The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has risked impeachment after the six months ultimatum given to him by the House of Senate to tackle insecurity elapsed.
As the House of Senate resumes plenary session on Tuesday, September 20, after a long break, the fate of the Nigerian president will be decided at the Upper Chamber.
On the 27th of July, it was gathered that over 20 lawmakers who are opposition senators, walked out of the Red Chamber during the plenary session.
The reason for the walkout was because the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, ruled out the motion on impeachment of the president, which is because of the increasing insecurity in different parts of the country.
