A doctor has been found drunk after four newborn babies died in Sapele Central Hospital, Delta State, Nigeria.

According to reports, the doctor was absent from his duty post, but later showed up, drunk.

All the women who were in the hospital to give birth reportedly lost their babies as a result of misconduct of the hospital’s personnels.

The family of the deceased newborns also alleged that there was no power supply in the hospital, and that the hospital management exhibited a high level of negligence which led to the death of the babies.

However, neither the hospital’s management nor the commissioner for health in Delta State, Mordi Ononye, has responded to this matter as at the time of this report.
