The Federal High Court, Damaturu, has given a fresh directive to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to out Ahmed Lawan and recognize Bashir Machina as the Senatorial Candidate of Yobe North.

Justice Fadima Murtala Aminu described the primary election held on May 28, 2022, which produced Ahmed Lawan as the candidate, as “phantom”.

The judge therefore ordered the APC to forward Machina’s name to INEC as the winner of the senatorial primaries in Yobe North Senatorial District.
