The Taraba State Federal High Court, Jalingo, has declared that the gubernatorial primary election which recognized Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial flagbearer for 2023 election is void.

According to reports, Justice Simon Amobeda nullified the primaries on Tuesday, September 20, after a successful suit filed by one of the gubernatorial aspirants, David Sabo Kente.
The Judge doubted the possibility of all the primary election results having the same handwriting.
Justice Amobeda has therefore directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to conduct another primary election within two weeks.
He also ordered Senator Bwacha, who is the Senator representing Taraba South, to cease all activities that portray him as the APC governorship candidate, and INEC to refrain from recognizing him as one.
The Returning Officer also noted that there was no primary election held at the police headquarters in Taraba State as a result of insecurity.
Senator Bwacha and other APC executives has promised to look into the matter, and as well declare their next move.
