The House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have issued a press release seeking for its leadership to dialogue with President Buhari next week over the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
According to the release, the House leadership led by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, is ready to dialogue issues of concern regarding the IPPIS and UTAS payment platforms, and will come up with useful recommendations on how to call off the seven months old strike.
Gbajabiamila noted that nobody is above the government or the law, and that it is only the interest of the children who are at the receiving end that should be paramount.
He assured that recommendations and thoughts will be put together and presented to the President so as to interface and look for solutions.
