The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has dismissed the order from the Federal Government directing lecturers to resume academic activities immediately.
The President of the Union, Emmanuel Osedeke, who believes the order is meaningless, stressed that the Union is unbothered, and that schools were never closed.
Osedeke maintained that the strike is still on until the demands of the lecturers are met.
“So, we are not bothered about whether Federal Government directed VCs to reopen schools or not,” he said.
“So, we are still on strike and so we shall remain until the Federal Government do what is right and good for the public universities in the country,” he said.
