On Sunday, September 11, at the Tree of Life Bible Church, Warri, Delta State, police officers impeded a church service to arrest a church member.

Reports have it that the officers started shooting in the air, which made the worshippers run for their lives.

According to an eyewitness, the reason for the arrest which he termed illegal, is not a robbery or kidnap case, but a mere business misunderstanding between a member of the church and the girl who invited the police.

However, the policemen who arrived with their van in mofti started shooting to scare people, especially old women and children.

“We almost lost a child who is ashmati. He went into shock on hearing the sound of the gun”, the witness said.
